Problem: Clarion NAX970HD or NAX980HD does not update the vehicle position while driving, or updates only once per minute.
Solution: The NAX970HD and NAX980HD use the VVS wire to show movement on the the screen. This wire must be connected to an analog VSS wire in the vehicle. If you can not provide an Analog VSS wire to the navigation, it will not function properly.
Note: Some newer vehicles use the CAN data bus to share information from the sensors in the vehicle with the insturment cluster and engine management system. There are several 3rd party modules available that can extract VSS information from the CAN data bus. The most common units are manufacturerd by SoundGate, Fortin Electronic Systems and Scosche.
