The chart below describes the error codes and their possible resolution:
CD/MP3/WMA
Error 2
A CD is caught inside the deck and can not be ejected
The CD Mechanism requires service – contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair
Error 3
A CD can not be played due to the inability of the laser mechanism to focus on the CD
Replace with a known good CD. If that doesn’t solve the problem contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair.
Error 5
Indicates a CPU error
Press the reset button. Remove power cord for five minutes. If the fault persists, contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair.
Error 6
A CD can not be read
Replace with a good quality store-bought CD. If the fault persists, contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair.
Error HHH
Internal temperature of the CD deck is too high
Discontinue playback and allow the deck to cool off. Consult your authorized Clarion dealer to address installation / ventilation issues.
Music Catcher:
Error 7
The format of the Music Catcher flash memory is damaged
Execute an All Erase on the flash memory
Error 8
There is a failure of the flash memory
Cycle Power, reset deck, perform a system check. If the fault persists, contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair.
Error 9
An error occurred during recording – disc may be damaged or scratched.
Cycle power, replace disc with a known good disc and re-record.
CD/DVD Changer
Error 1
Indicates a mechanical error within the CD changer mechanism
Press the reset button on the changer. If the fault persists, contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair.
Error 2
Internal temperature of the CD Changer is too high.
Discontinue playback and allow the deck to cool off. Consult your authorized Clarion dealer to address installation / ventilation issues.
Error 4
The CD Changer is not properly connected or has lost communication with the controller
Turn off power, reset all power and signal connections and try again. If the fault persists, contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair.
Error 9
There is a problem with the FM Modulator circuit.
Contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair.
DVD Player
Error P
Parental Level Error
Set the correct parental level
Error R
Region Code Error
Replace with a disc with the proper region code. Region codes are not configurable.
Other
Error 99
Indicates that a hideaway EQ/DSP module has lost communication with the controller.
Turn off power, reseat all power and signal connections and try again. If the fault persists, contact your authorized Clarion dealer for repair.
